Sealants

A little shield for busy little teeth.

Back teeth do plenty of chewing, but their tiny grooves can be tricky to brush. Dental sealants give those hard-to-reach places an extra layer of protection.

What is a sealant?

A sealant is a thin protective coating placed over the chewing surface of a back tooth. It helps keep food and bacteria out of the grooves where cavities can begin.

Small step, simple visit

We clean and dry the tooth, apply the coating, and let it set. There’s no drilling involved. We’ll explain what’s happening as we go, so your child knows what to expect.

Is it time for sealants?

Sealants are often recommended as permanent molars arrive. Some baby teeth may benefit, too. We’ll look at your child’s teeth and cavity risk before recommending them.

Keeping that little shield strong

We’ll check the sealants at regular visits and let you know if they need attention. Brushing, flossing, and regular checkups still have their part to play.
